From the series Praying (2024)
The video documents a nonverbal exchange between two individuals seated side by side. Wet stones are passed back and forth, each participant maintaining their own rhythm and method of transfer. The action appears minimal, yet its structure reveals a reciprocal system built on weight, moisture, and duration.
Rather than framing the exchange as symbolic communication, the work focuses on how the stones mediate a form of interaction that bypasses language altogether. The moisture transferred between hands and stone becomes a transient record of contact, while the repeated motion generates a feedback loop in which agency, tempo, and attention are continually negotiated. In this configuration, the video examines reciprocity as a material process—an interaction shaped not by narrative intention but by the oscillation of pressure, temperature, and bodily presence.
